The UNC Clef Hangers
This is one of the groups that keeps me inspired to arrange songs after songs. Hailing from the University of North Carolina, the Clef Hangers is an A Cappella group that is so critically acclaimed that it has performed countless times across America and garnered so much fervent support. It has to date produced a whopping 16 professional albums and is even nominated for various awards, such as CARA. Here are some videos that I took from youtube. Hope you enjoy them.
One Republic’s Apologize. The lead isn’t strong but I like the background arrangement.
Coldplay’s Fix you. The lead isn’t fantastic either but I like the arrangement.
JT’s My Love. Wah COOL!
Autumn Leaves. The black guy is DA BOMB… I wish I could be a bass solo too.
Vertical Horizon’s Everything You Want. Fantastic Job!! One of my favourites.
And of course, my favourite of all time – Chasing Cars.
Inspired by Clef Hangers version of Chasing Cars, I’ve attempted my own 8 part arrangement + percussion to be sang A Cappella as well. But I patched it to a midi with instrumentation. Not as fantastic as the Clef Hangers version but ah well… what does an amatuer like me have to lose anyway. Too bad word press doesn’t let me upload it here… Dumb system…
